Safety Protocols to Protect Patients & Staff
Safety protocols have always been at the top of our list of priorities at the practice of Reed Kuratomi D.D.S. Never more so, however, than during this pandemic. We have always sterilized all instruments and disinfected all surfaces in the office to protect our staff and patients from diseases like hepatitis and Aids. But starting in 2020, we expanded and enhanced our safety efforts with aerosol evacuators in each treatment room, including two large units to scrub and filter the air we all breathe in the office. We are also limiting the flow of appointments each day, and practicing safe distancing at all times. Everyone who enters our office, staff and patients alike, are screened prior to entering. All are asked to answer specific health-related questions to determine whether they are safe to enter. Temperatures are taken, and we provide everyone with hand sanitizers prior to entry. The wearing of masks is mandatory for both staff and patients while moving about the practice. The one exception being with patents receiving treatment. In addition, all staff wear face shields and gowns. Prior to treatment, all patients are given a mouth rinse to promote safety and oral hygiene.
